Chemical wash vs chemical overhaul
A chemical wash cleans the fan coil while it stays mounted on the wall. A chemical overhaul dismounts the unit and strips it down. The overhaul costs more and takes longer, and most units needing attention only need the wash.
What actually happens
- Chemical wash: unit stays up, coil and blower treated in place.
- Chemical overhaul: unit comes down, is dismantled and cleaned part by part, then refitted.
- Overhaul suits units a wash no longer restores, or that have gone years without service.
- If an overhaul is quoted on a recently serviced unit, ask what specifically justifies it.
