Why this is different here
Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate (Koppen Af) with no distinctive seasons, high humidity and abundant rainfall. That is why fan coils foul faster here than in temperate markets, and why roughly three-monthly servicing is the usual interval for a unit in daily use.
What actually happens
- The drain pipe is checked for gradient and choke before anything else; in retrofitted runs the fall is often marginal to begin with.
- A vacuum pump clears the condensate line. Blowing it through just pushes the blockage further along the run.
- Fan coil and blower wheel are cleaned; in Singapore's humidity the wheel fouls faster than most owners expect.
