Chemical wash Punggol
A chemical wash in Punggol treats the fan coil in place with a chemical solution to shift fouling that plain water will not, then flushes the drainage line. The unit stays mounted on the wall.
Why this is different here
Punggol's development started in 1998 under the Punggol 21 initiative. As one of the newest towns, its blocks were built with aircon ledges and drainage designed in, so servicing here is about keeping the fan coil and tray clean rather than fighting a retrofitted drain run.
What actually happens
- Fan coil, blower wheel and condensate tray are cleaned, which is where fouling starts in newer units.
- Drainage is checked but is rarely the root cause in blocks built with concealed piping.
- Filters are washed and dried before refitting; a damp filter puts moisture straight back into the unit.
